Here are some things we noticed on our last stay at Dreams in PV and wanted to share
with you to make your trip even smoother and more enjoyable!
1. At the Airport: walk by all the counters and say, "no thanks" (there will be people trying to sell you things like trips and condos. Go outside and find White Cabs- the drivers also wear white shirts. The rate is fixed at $31.00 to the resort (at least it was April 2010).2. The hotel will exchange $ and has an ATM.
3. Beach Towels are provided by the resort- however some people are crazy and claim their beach or pool chairs very early in the morning by placing a towel and book on it!
4. Bring singles- tips are appreciated, but not necessary, by all staff.
5. Computer/internet is available in the lobby store for $2 for 15 minutes.
6. The resort store has many forgotten items like flip flops and sunscreen, but can be a bit pricey.
7. Yellow Cabs are the "city cabs" and are $5 to the city from the resort.
8. Spa- the resort spa is available to book massages, facials, mani/pedi...you name it!
9. In the rooms: slippers, robes, hair dryer (good), sunscreen spf 15, nice smelling lotions and soaps, and a mini-fridge fully stocked and free with bottled water, juice, pop, and beer.
10. It is always recommended in Mexico to drink bottled water, which can be found everywhere in the resort. Dreams Resort also has it's own water purifying system.
11. Dress Code: one nicer restaurant (Italian) has a dress code- pants for men, but in general we found all the restaurants to loosely follow their dress code- just don't go to dinner in your bathing suit; unless you're going to the buffet.
12. Vendors on the Beach: They will say, "senor? senorita?" but if you don't want anything just say "no thank you" and they will leave- they are all very nice and have some great things to sell too! (We believe they work for the resort or at least get permission to be there.)
13. The resort is on a private beach so anyone there is either at our resort or paid $85 to get in!
14. Free Activities: kayaking, snorkeling, tennis, H2o aerobics, water volleyball, sand volleyball, rock climbing, soccer, football, gym (open 7am-9pm with weights and cardio machines), nightly entertainment (including movies on the beach and shows with performers), and of course...drinking.
15. Paid Activities: There are opportunities to go on tours, rent boats, go banana boating, fishing, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, zip lining, and jet skiing if you want to spend the extra dough.
16. The most important: We are so excited that you are taking a vacation and coming to our wedding so ENJOY YOURSELF and Have FUN!
I haven't been to the blog in a few months, HOLY MOLY!!! This made me so freaking excited! Eeee!
